  1. I’m not sure if it came out in 2007 or 2008; but ‘Young Stalin’ (Simon Montefefiore) is one of the best books I’ve read in the last year; or ever.

  2. One of the best books I read the past year was ‘The speed of dark’ – a novel by Elizabeth Moon. It’s a SF novel set in the near future. The hero is an ‘autistic’ young man who works in a hi-tech firm. The plot (thin as it is) deals with a company that offers a cure to autism; and pressures its (‘autistic’) employees to take the cure.

    – the author knows of which she speaks, and presents the best portrait I’ve read of people who suffer from this complex. (She does a wonderful job.)
