End Demand

End demand

If there were no buyers, there would be no sellers and no victims. I’m told that the demand for young girls is increasing, and the buyer is an average American man. This is evil. I’m know I’m being vague, but hard to talk about sex trafficking in any context.

  1. The average American man is buying young girls in the sex trade? I find that hard to believe.

    Do you have stats?

Or is this referring to p()rnography?

    That I’d believe.

  2. I’m sorry. You’re right, Lars. The profile of the buyer is an average American man, and it does include pornography. There are many more facts through the link, such as “1 out of 5 pornographic images is of a child.”

  3. Apparently, laws have criminalized prostitutes and pimps for years, but not buyers. Recently it was significant that a successful sting w brought in several sellers, victims, and buyers. Perhaps law enforcement has believed that if they could cut off the supply, then it would end the demand, but in this case, the reverse is true. The supply is a type of slavery, and holistic abuse keeps them enslaved.

  4. I don’t think we’re entitled to tell an adult woman not to be a prostitute. But child abuse is already criminal. We just need to enforce the laws we have.

  5. Well, I think we can, though we can’t stop anyone from exchanging money for sex. But our problem isn’t two adults doing something immoral. It’s several adults abusing women who think of themselves as nothing but worthless whores (not to mention the children). We need to try to stop abuse, even adult abuse.

And we hear often that we can’t keep them from taking pictures and selling them, but I wonder if we can. Maybe if the law forbid the sale of images depicting certain acts which are defined in the law as abusive, we can shut down adult bookstores. But then, I’d think any city or county council could shut one down simply because they don’t want it.

  6. This is hard subject to think about, much less to talk about, but folks, there is a horrible SECRET underbelly world that we know nothing about, and it is too close to home.

There was a PBS documentary program just this past week regarding the sex-slave trade overseas, (Turkey, Russia.) AWFUL! AWFUL! This sex traffic trade is a world-wide, recession-proof industry and therefore will not be easily dismantled or men/women easily SET FREE FROM their obsessive and addictive (sex and money user) HELL.

For American men, the stats are: 50% of the men in America’s churches are addicted to pornography. (I think (?) my source for this info was Dr. Paul Hegstrom – Life Skills International.)

It concerns me that this old world is getting darker, but it is good to know there is a work out there to rescue, and to fully rehabilitate the victims. IMHO, folks – this isn’t just a battle, this is WAR (spiritual warfare) and I hope and pray that OUR CHURCH Triumphant will LOVE their brothers/sisters enough to lead the charge and get on the front line.
