I think I\u2019d hypnotize pretty easily today. I had a couple ideas for blog posts through the course of the day, but lacked the wit to write them down. They\u2019re gone now.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I\u2019ve read a couple criticisms<\/strong> of Jonah Goldberg\u2019s recent book, <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Liberal-Fascism-American-Mussolini-Politics\/dp\/0385511841\/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;qid=1214002607&#038;sr=8-1\">Liberal Fascism<\/a><\/i>, from conservatives who\u2019ve said it\u2019s simply uncivil and divisive to use a term like \u201cliberal fascism\u201d (even though it wasn\u2019t Goldberg, but Socialist H. G. Wells, who coined it).<\/p>\n<p>But in recent weeks two Democratic politicians have called for the nationalization of the oil industry.<\/p>\n<p>For those of you who went to public schools in the last 25 years, and thus don\u2019t know any history, nationalizing industry is what fascists <i>do<\/i>.<br \/>\n<br \/><strong><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/story\/0,2933,369549,00.html\">This<\/a> is a troubling story:<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A public school teacher taught creationism in his science class and used a device to burn the image of a cross on students&#8217; arms, according to a report by independent investigators.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If it\u2019s accurate it\u2019s appalling. However, as you know if you\u2019ve ever been involved in anything reported in the news, news stories are never accurate, especially in the first reports.<\/p>\n<p>Am I trying to cut the guy some extra slack, just because he\u2019s a believer?<\/p>\n<p>Sure I am.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hypnotists always tell their subjects to let their minds go completely blank.
