I’m kind of afraid that if he came back, we’d learn what he really thinks, and it might spoil our pleasure in his old work.
But then I’m a pathetic coward.
He needs to come back to sue all those people who misused his cartoon on the back window of their car.
A good cartoon not entrenched in politics would be a breath of fresh air.
But I’m not sure that he would A) want to do it, and B) anyone would pay him to make it. Newspaper comics have fallen a long way since Watterson was around.
If he wanted to do comic books, I’m sure he could find a publisher.
Yeah, I wish he’d doa graphic novel or something. He’d have no problem getting a publisher.
