  1. Alright, here’s what I think.

The best things in life are free.

Reality is what you trips you when you’re walking through the dark.

When I fall in love, it will be forever.

The glass is half empty. (At least, I think this my default assumption. I’d like to change it.)

I’m torn for #5, because I want a quiet life of integrity, but I also drink expensive coffee and love good food.

Given the chance, the government will enslave us sooner than corporations will, but corruption is everywhere and needs to be fought everywhere.

Mine are the hands I use, not the hands of others to command. I may not even be good at management.

Resist the devil, and he will flee.

It isn’t true that beauty can be categorized so that we can reconstruct it with accuracy, but it’s closer to the truth than the other statement. I belive there are definitive elements of beauty which can be understood, but I doubt we can break it down enough to manufacture it like a product. There’s something intangible about it with can’t be itemize or communicated in words.

The essence of art is to capture the beautiful. This may not be completely true, but it’s close.

  2. 1. The best things in life aren’t free, but you can’t buy them with money either, most of the time.

    2. Reality is what trips you when you’re walking in the dark.

    3. When I fall in love, it will be forever (more’s the pity, since she married somebody else).

    4. Both of those statements are equally true.

    5. I have no idea what this question is about.

  3. Welcome back. I look forward to hearing about yesterday.

#5 is about living a rich life or a simple life. “Life is too short to drink the house wine,” because the house wine isn’t excellent enough for me. But I would say “The small garden of a free gardener was all my need and due,” if I was content to avoid rich wine and live what many would call a small life.

Did you see the other questions?

  4. 6. a. Given the chance, the government will enslave us all.

    7. b. Mine are the hands I use, not the hands of others to command. (One necessary condition for leadership is people who are willing to follow you.)

    8. a. Resist the devil, and he will flee. (This is a scriptural teaching and I believe it. Wish I could point to a lot of evidence from experience.)

    9. a. Beauty can be categorized so that we can reconstruct it with accuracy. (Scientists tell us that beautiful faces are consistent in measurements across all cultures. Favored body styles vary a great deal more. But I’m always amazed at how some women who do nothing for me drive other guys wild (Renee Zellweger comes to mind.)

    10. a. The essence of art is to capture the beautiful. (And to glorify God through subcreation, needless to say.)
