At a charity reading in New York, Authors John Irving and Stephen King urge J.K. Rowling to avoid doffing Potter.
King said, “I don’t want him to go over the Reichenbach Falls.”
Rowling said she has worked out the ending to her series, and no doubt someone will not like it.
She won’t kill Harry. I’m convinced of it. Nobody could go through as much suffering, loss and tests as him, and die at the end.

(and I confess to a sneaking hope for the character “killed” in book 5, but everyone tells me I am wrong about that).
Yes, I haven’t read beyond bk 2, but I’m aware of Dumbledore’s death in bk 6. My sister thinks there are clues to his return, whether he’s really dead at the end of bk 6 or not. The phoenix is his bird, after all.
