A Series of Unfortunate Metaphors: Campaigns Engaged in Bizarre War of Words
“James Carville suggests Bill Richardson is a modern-day Judas. Bill Clinton calls Barack Obama’s campaign a fairy tale. Hillary Clinton says she’s a lot like ‘Rocky,’ except Rocky lost to Apollo Creed in a split decision.”
Conservative commentator Michael Steele says, “I think some of the language has gotten a little bit to the point of being silly.”
In other silliness, Ted Turner thinks global warming will kill most of us and drive the rest to cannibalism.
Still though, I had to admire ole serpent-head for sticking to his guns and refusing to go to sensitivity training after making the Judas comment. It’s refreshing to see a pol who will say something controversial and then not revise or extend remarks. . .
I suppose so, but “refreshing” is not the first word that came to my mind.
