I’m delighted to report that I have received verbal (actually e-mail) acceptance of one of my novels by a new publisher.
I’m going to be discreet about naming names at this point, before a contract has actually been signed. I’ll say that the publisher is a newish Christian house, and that I will be their first fiction author.
The novel is West Oversea, the third volume in The Saga of Erling Skjalgsson.
I do the dance of joy!
I am SO pleased I can hardly see straight.
I’ll try to be online later tonight.
YEEEEE-HAAAAAAAA!
!!!!! FANTASTIC !!!!! Praise the Lord. I must buy it as soon as it hits the shelves!
I am filled with joy at this news. I’d buy the book if it cost fifty bucks!
What terrific news! Yea!
Which titles are 1 and 2 and have they both been published? I only remember reading one.
Great news, Lars! Be sure to let us know when, who, etc. in due time.
The first 2 books were combined in the double volume called The Year of the Warrior. If you have that book, you have all the Erling books published to date.
As to publishing schedule, I don’t know anything yet.
Lars, I heard about this from Mad Mike (at his conference on Baen’s Bar). Looking forward to being able to purchase it. Oh, is there any chance of it being available as an ebook?
Hip, Hip, HURRAY! Very happy for you, Lars. Keep us updated on the realease date. We’ll party!
Paul, I don’t have any idea what plans my publisher may have for e-book publication. As far as I know, though, there are none.
Lars, while it might be too soon for you to talk with them about it, I believe it might be possible for WebScriptions to handle the ebook publication *for* them.
Of course, I’m just a Bar-Fly so I don’t know what is really possible.
Congrats Lars, looking forward to it.
Thank you all for the kind words.
I’m excited to learn this; I just finished “Year of the Warrior” and am thrilled that the story will continue. Congratulations!
Huzzah!!Calloo Callay!!
I want a signed copy. I’m saying that right now!!
;-D
Congrats Lars, I’m glad for you.
Huzzah!
Good job! I look forward to reading it.
If it’s not private, may I ask why Baen isn’t publishing it? Is it a matter of low sales on The Year of the Warrior, editorial policy, or something else?
I don’t feel comfortable saying any more about my relations with Baen than to say that it’s doubtful that any more of my books will be released by them.
