Last Thursday, I mentioned the blog on visiting various churches, made a crack about visiting a Lutheran church, and what do you know but he visted a Missouri Synod Lutheran church yesterday. He avoided the snakes too–a double blessing.
Not untypical, I think. Lutherans are supposed to place preaching at the center of worship (as best I understand it), but I think that in many churches the sacramental is central. I don’t see that as a truly Lutheran approach, but others disagree.
My own group is a whole lot less liturgical.
