Not only does chocolate rich in cacoa or dark chocolate taste great, it’s good for you too. It improves blood flow by knocking out cholesterol, among other things.
“Many people don’t realize that chocolate is plant-derived, as are the fruits and vegetables recommended for a healthy heart,” said Dr. Mary Engler of the University of California, San Francisco.
Everyone knows this, of course. That’s why chocolate sales are up a few billion.
This completely sidesteps the central issue.
Dark chocolate is bitter.
Therefore it is evil.
The bitterness varies with each bar, and you can eat it with milk or coffee.
I was going to mention the whole superiority-of-dark-chocolate thing on the Enger review, but decided against baiting Lars. Seems I’m in the minority here.
I’m a fan of dark chocolate. Even though I found out the hard way as a child that there is a BIG difference between the less sweet dark chocolate, and the uber bitter baking chocolate. BLAH.
