I made the mistake of watching a few seconds of this video post over at The Thinklings.
Now I have to go gouge my eyes out.
I made the mistake of watching a few seconds of this video post over at The Thinklings.
Now I have to go gouge my eyes out.
Because you know that, after seeing that video, you have no need to see anything else ever again. That’s how beautiful that video is.
My ancestors considered dancing a sin, in spite of the lack of a single biblical supporting text.
Now I see their point.
Through comments over at Thinklings, I am informed that this assault on all that’s decent was actually produced by members of The Way International, a cult group.
Thank God.
And yet as C.S. Lewis pointed out, there are gleams of truth in every religion, even false ones. This video, I propose, is The Way’s one truth, and yea, it is truer than all the truths of the other cults put together.
The man moonwalks in a Gordon Gecko suit, Lars! Moonwalks!
I suppose it bears some comparison to Garrison Keillor’s Unitarian missionaries, who went out to convert the heathen through interpretive dance.
Which is also OF THE DEVIL.
I watched the whole video (unlike some people who apparently don’t appreciate the beauty of modern dance) and I can honestly say it was so awesome I will never be able to forget it.
Well, that’s the horror of it, isn’t it?
I’m not sure which was worse, the dancing or the yards and yards of Navy Blue Polyester.
A day later I feel guilty about my remarks. (Really.) As I was trying to go to sleep, this video kept flashing across my mind… then a little voice, “and what contributions to the music service do you ever contribute?” It’s too easy to criticize,(not that I was trying to dump on what seemed like nice people) but I think too many people in the Church forget that music in the church isn’t about entertainment, it’s about worship.
– and I won’t go into the tv preacher who dressed up in a full suit of armor to give an exposition of Ephesians.
Well, I’m not guilty. Anyway, these are heretics. If we can’t make fun of heretics, what use are they?
