Contrary to my experience with a micro/church (with formal leadership, an (admittedly short) official statement of beliefs, and intentional alliances with traditional churches), but then I imagine the point of micro-churches is that each is idiosyncratic. There are probably many that fit Veith’s dystopic vision.
Still, it seems that associated with an emerging/emergent/missional/postevangelical mindset is the idea that church works in community; I would expect more churches to be like mine than Veith’s when it comes to interactions among the body.
