50 Writing Resources

Hone your writing skills with one or more of these websites. I’ve used Ask Oxford in the past, and I’ve needed help with my headlines for a long time. Do you use any of these resources? Do you dislike any of them?

  1. I use OneLook Dictionary for everything, and I am learning to use mind mapping software (which was not mentioned).

    Let me encourage you about writing headlines: it doesn’t matter. As a former newspaper Lifestyles Editor*, I have written more stupid headlines than you can imagine. It helps to be working in a newsroom where you can bounce ideas back and forth with your peers; it’s much harder on your own. But it doesn’t matter.

    *How many ways are there to write, “Garden Club holds meeting” and make it compelling?
