Phil, you may like this video. It’s a little long but well-worth your while.
It’s all a clever scheme to save Social Security. (Read this in a pirate’s voice) “Dead men draw no benefits”.
I watched the video. Incredible! The lie Michael Moore tells at the beginning should be shouted down at every corner. Is it possible the liberals in power advocate this because they want to keep little people down? That they want more opportunity to ignore the problems they make and promise the foolish they will fix it in the future?
Ha, Ori, I love it! I’m writing that one down.
Phil, I don’t like the idea no matter which party advocates it. (Mitt Romney’s health plan isn’t quite this bad, but it’s still pretty scary.) I think people advocate it because they genuinely believe that centralized government can organize things better than markets — which is insanity. No one has the mental capacity or time to weigh the decisions the market makes automatically.
Reminds me of the poster from at Despair.com,
Government – If you think our problems are bad, wait till you see our solutions.
People have a natural tendency to believe they are competent. People whose life experience is primarily in government will naturally assume their way of doing things works.
