Off to Iowa

Field of Corn Plants

I’m off to Elk Horn, Iowa this morning to do the Viking thing, because that’s the kind of guy I am. You’ll have to be content with this for a post from me. Phil, I assume, will fill the void with wonder and merriment, as is his wont.

And remember, all you burglars out there, my renter will still be in the house. He’s got a new shotgun, and he’s just itching to try it out.

  1. contrary to the above photo, the corn is not quite that tall yet in Iowa…. just about, but not quite.

Elkhorn, Iowa…. There, you go out, hunt down an elk, grab him by his “horns” and blow on them like crazy…. There was a great jazz sensation in NY in the 40s known as the Great Jazz Sensation. They were extremely popular with the Zamballi indians of Arizona. Elk horns were all they played…the jazz guys that is…

I do hope Lars won’t get caught up in that! Can you picture him in NY blowing tenor elk-horn up in some jazz loft? Drinking Cool Aid….using dope on a rope….er…. soap on a rope… He’d be lost to us forever!!
