Truth-telling is, like, so legalistic

Over at Townhall Magazine, Prof. Mike Adams tears into Don Miller, author of Blue Like Jazz:

The only problem with this story is that it isn’t true. Oddly, Don came back to visit that Christian camp just a few years ago. When he did, he was confronted with his very public and untruthful account his time at Summit Ministries.

In response, Don just said it wasn’t a big deal. He fabricated the story just to make a point. He was confronted privately but was unrepentant, which was not too surprising. Remember that Don thinks Christianity is not about rules. It’s about a relationship with God.

  1. I’m surprised by this article. I had to ask Don Miller on Twitter (I see that he is regular there) about it. I hope he replies. Presenting fiction as fact is simply unacceptable.

  2. Mike Adams has been removed as a columnist on Townhall.com, at least temporarily. The article linked above it not there, nor are any of Adams’ columns.

I asked Don Miller about it on Twitter. Did he fabricate a story he presented as truth? He replied, “heavens no. they removed the article. it was absurd. josh harris wrote about the same experience!” The article does appear elsewhere online, and Miller appears to have written a blog post in response, but has taken it down too. I found only a Google stub for it.

So, the long and short is Miller claims to be telling the truth, that Josh Harris backs him up, and Mike Adams didn’t substantiate his claims or worse, made them up.
