I was thinking mostly of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. I can’t remember anything specific, but I think his harpsichord concertos are pretty impressive. I know I heard something stirring once composed by Bach’s father, Johann Ambrosius Bach. Johann Christian and Wilhelm Friedemann are worth looking into. Johann, in fact, was far more famous in his day than J.S. was, mostly for operatic works, I believe.
