It is over 80 degrees outside. 80 degrees. I ought to have the air conditioning on, but blast it, you’re supposed to go through a stage where you can have the windows open a while before full-on summer comes. So I’m holding out.
The “procedure” went fine today. Unfortunately we didn’t learn anything new. So I expect there will be further tests, and eventually I’ll have to see Doctor House, who will torture me and insult my faith until I get better.
For now I’m pleasantly buzzed, and I can eat again. Could be worse.
Speaking of eating, I went on a trip earlier last month and visited Culver’s for the first time. Had a three cheese butterburger. It was good. Nice atmosphere too.
It is good, isn’t it. A few years back, Jonah Goldberg declared the Culber’s Butterburger with Cheese the best cheeseburger in America. I don’t eat cheeseburgers, of course, but I appreciate the burger without it.
I go to Culver’s for the Norwegian Cod dinner. It’s a bit of a misnomer, since you’d expect Norwegian Cod to have been dried and reconstituted by soaking in lye. But these are beautifully large fillets, lightly batter dipped and deep fried as all true fish should be. The best fish I’ve had since The Friar’s Delight on Grey’s Inn Road in London.
The cod dinner is actually what I usually get.
