I’m deeply, profoundly depressed tonight, and not up to thinking up a post.
Instead, a picture of a dragonfly. Because I like them. I thought of doing a butterfly, but I’m in more of a dragonfly mood.

Beautiful photo. Please take heart for you are loved with an everlasting love by the King of kings. An eternity of bliss will be ours one day.
It’s going around.
Praying for you.
The dragonfly is gorgeous.
Depression sucks.
Lars, I’ve found myself getting sucked into depression quite a bit lately, meditating on the futility of all things. Yesterday was even worse since my normally quiet Monday night ambulance shift was rather active so I went into the day yesterday operating on less than three hours of sleep. An old evangelist friend once told me, “Fatigue makes cowards of us all.” How true.
But God is good. I dragged myself to my late afternoon confirmation class where we were finishing our yearlong survey of the New Testament with a quick overview of the book of Philippians. Some of the discussion questions in the curriculum I had written years ago spoke directly to my situation.
It gets really hard to enjoy wallowing in a blue funk when I have to explain to a couple of Junior High kids the tools God gives us for crawling out of one.
After class I came home and laid down for a few minutes before supper. I ended up sleeping 13 hours through the night and feel much better this morning. On top of that, maybe missing supper will help with my weight loss program.
