That’s true. But somebody noted on a local talk show here today that Alan Keyes did very well in the Iowa caucuses a few years back, and (for some reason) nobody made much out of that. Might have something to do with the fact that it was the Republican caucuses.
Certain people, in parts of the country which are the self-proclaimed center of civilization, don’t seem to get the fact that to many, if not most, in the Heartland, things like Obama’s & Keyes’ blackness or Lieberman’s Jewishness haven’t mattered for a very long time.
