“Russia needs Russians to survive.” Apparently a very high rate of ending pregnancies continues in Russia. It’s unthinkable.
In other news, Planned Parenthood doesn’t believe child rape is a cause to fight against. Another clinic worker has been exposed for trying to sweep the rape of a 13-year-old under the rug in favor of aborting her baby.
If you want to get an idea of modern Russia I’d recommend ‘Stalin’s Ghost’ by Martin Cruz Smith. (It’s one in his series of detective novels featuring an Arkady Renko.) I found it horribly depressing; and doubt if I’ll read any more in the series. (Like everything I’ve read by him, it’s well written.)
– p.s. I’m no expert on Russia; but I have a feeling this is true to the case. (Smith is quite an expert.)
– I’m sure it’s exaggerated; but one gets the impression most people (at least in the cities) have little interest in having families. (An almost sure sign a society is in its death throes.)
