Probably. There usually are. One year they rigged a “helmet-cam,” and produced what I remember as a pretty exciting piece of video. I wonder if they ever posted it.
wow. I’d think with some training they could get some very exciting footage closer to the action. Maybe it would take rehearsed battles so that the cameraman or the camera isn’t smacked with an sword.
Looking at the trailer, I like the look of it, purely from a cinematic point of view. They appear to have set it in the proper historical period, but some of the swords seem to be late medieval. Also, in the duels (not in the battles), they’re fighting without shields. That’s something they do in movies so you can see the actors better, but real warriors never did it if they could help it.
And the clip where a guy has his sword on fire is dramatic, but it’s a great way to destroy the temper of your blade, ruining one of the most expensive things you own.
That was a particularly nice one. I’m planning to be with these guys again this April, in Elk Horn, Iowa.
Good deal. Will there be video cameras around?

Correction: The event will be Memorial Day weekend.
The Spartan mother who told her son, “With your shield or on it”, woudl be getting the worst of both worlds here.
Have you heard of the new movie, Pendragon: Sword of His Father? Produced by a homeschool family for $80,000, it just came out on video.

I’d like to read your critique of the medieval battle scenes.
Sorry, I haven’t heard of it.
