Today is my birthday, and I’ll be driving down to a point in southern Minnesota after work, to have dinner with my brother. So probably no posting tonight.

Hey, Hey, Hey! Happy Birthday. We should update your wikipedia page . . .
Happy Birthday.
Thank you.
Happy B-Day, Lars! Have an extra slice of cake for me. (Calories don’t count on your birthday, right?)
Actually, I had pie. But fear not, there were plenty of calories.
Happy Birthday Lars ๐ (I’ve always thought that summer birthdays were more fun than winter birthdays, without school to interfere in the celebrations.)
In celebration of your birthday, I offer a tidbit from Lewis and Clark, on July 31, 1804 Including: “Musqueters verry troubleson …”
I take it the Musqueters were deserters from some French exploratory force… ๐
Thanks for the greeting. It was a good day.
Happy belated birthday, Lars.
Happy belated birfday!
Yes, thanks, Mariette Hartley as banished fur girl and James Garner as Rockford.
Thank you, Reese.
For the rest of you, the Mariette Hartley reference comes from a discussion in the Comments over at one of James Lileks’ blogs.
I’ve frequently thought that the traditional birthday cake should be supplanted by the birthday pie. Cake is good, but pie is, well, it’s pie.
And who can argue against pie?
As I’m too late to wish you a happy birthday, I’ll follow Humpty Dumpty’s model and wish you a Happy Unbirthday.
I like cake, too. In any case, thank you.
Happy birthday week, Lars! Some people celebrate their birthdays for an entire week, in which case I’m not too late.
My son’s birthday was July 30. You’d like him – his name is Erik and he’s always reading.
Thank you.
How rude of me to forget! You must, please forgive…
Of course we here in God’s country truly wish you a most sincere birthday! What bothers me is that for each year you are older…then so am I! Soon, then I’m 62…what’s a guy to do, heh?
As we wish you the very best of birthdays, we more pray for your happiness, well-being and spiritual growth. What more could a guy ask for?
This is from your adoring 2nd. cous and mrs. John Book… You simply MUST visit out here!!
Now tell me… what made the little computer thing think what I wrote was SPAM????!!! Inquiring minds wish to know.!!!!
John, this post is two years old, so Bloo, our excellent blogging software, flags any comments no matter how good they are. If you reply this my comment now, I think it will post free and clear.
Phil, thanks for the info…….I realized the 2 year thing AFTER I wrote what I did…. even while typing…I had this haunting feeling that something was a-miss………. Well… Lars just got two birthday good wishes this year…will that mean he is an extra year older?
