I’m still of the opinion that Amy’s divorce was not valid on Christian grounds. But the editor had no right to distort the interview.
Turner’s article does not ring true to me, but I don’t know if that’s imaginative license on his part or just the poor re-creation of the dialogue. Nobody talks like that in real life, even jerks like Gerald.
I don’t remember any details now. The article above gives the impression that she doesn’t feel entirely justified, so maybe she agrees with you. I’m amazed that the publisher believes he is honoring God by making up quotations.
Jared, did the quotes from Grant sound false too?
Tag, you’re it. Both of you.
I can think of all kinds of reasons for this article to be false as well as accurate.
I only know Amy by name and a few songs from some years back.
I do know people make up all sorts of things to get their 15 min. of fame.
I have a friend whose son married a Christian singer. Both were very strong, strong Christians… but whatever happened to the marriage, only they will know the truth… but in the mean-time, the media had a field day printing all kinds of CRAP about both or either of them.
But, then both of them smeared the other beyond imagination!
Does this “magazine” have a history of printing CRAP about Christians? IF yes….maybe the author has some pluses. IF no….maybe the author is not speaking with straight tongue.
You guys must know the people involved much better than me. Look at the history.
PS… Few divorces are justified. I believe the reasons are listed in the Good Book. Way to go Lars!
I have no reason to doubt the truthfulness of the story itself. I know enough about the Christian “industry” to know it has more than its share of jerks and hypocrites.
But the article makes the whole thing sound false. I am sure Turner is telling the truth, but his re-creation sounds fake.
