“If I can’t stand up and show you how the gospel is smashing my idols, you’re never going to believe this stuff is real.” Tullian Tchividjian of Coral Ridge PCA is preaching on Jesus’ sufficiency, claiming the hard truths of the gospel for himself. He says, “I never realize how reliant I had become on human approval and acceptance until it was taken away from me.” This is real Christianity.

Tullian is very good on the Gospel. A VAST improvement on his predecessor at Coral Ridge Pres., D. James Kennedy, who seemed to spend a lot of time preaching right wing politics instead of Christ crucified.
I wondered how much Dr. Kennedy did that type of preaching. The norm for Presbyterian (PCA at least) preaching is to focus on Jesus from the pulpit.
*cough*
Oh, yeah. Loren goes to that church. So what are you trying to say, old man?
Who, me? I guess I’ll say whatever the sovereign Lord has foreordained from before the foundation of the world. (smiles a wide, predestined smile)
No, seriously, many people forget that Dr. Kennedy founded an evangelistic organization named Evangelism Explosion that has a presence in every nation in the world. No matter what you think of his politics, that’s pretty impressive. And if you follow the above link, you’ll read this from him: “But when all is said and done and my life is finished I believe that the most significant thing God will have done through me will be Evangelism Explosion! One day, I will have passed off the scene. My prayer and deep desire is that the leaders whom God raises up in my place will take firm hold of EE and the principles that are helping it reach into every culture and continent of the world.”
Yep, I knew that, but I still wonder how he preached. There’s a radio show of his messages, so if I want to listen to several (or if anyone else does), I can look up Truths That Transform.
