I believe that Erling’s culture valued the tellers of stories, the reciters of history. I do think he would have wanted the history of his adventures–the good and the bad–to be told and retold. What better mechanism for that telling and retelling than Lars’ books?

I too, when first viewing this picture thought the obvious hero was Lars….but then, I looked closer and realized Lars has more color in his cheeks than this fellow does…he also has bigger feet…..
Besides, Lars has much more animal sex appeal than this guy. Why, I even think I have heard of Lars complaining about all the female groupies who follow him around his books signings…….
